Hello! You can call me Isaiah Jacobs! I am a 59-year-old man who has lived with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, a form of Muscular Dystrophy, for, well, 59 years! On my blog, I am going to share tips, funny stories, and encouragement for other CMT patients and people with other disabilities.
Please note, I am NOT a doctor or hold a position in any medical or health field. I cannot diagnosis you nor prescribe nor recommend anything for your care. You must seek a medical professional for that. I am not an athlete nor hold a position in that field. I know what was recommended for me and it worked. Nor am I a theologian. I am an average guy with a strong faith in God.
Having covered all of the “I am NOT’s,” I have lived with Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Type 1a, all of my life. I didn’t know it at first but then I was officially diagnosed in my early twenties. After a short bout with “depression,” I made a decision to make the best of what life has given me. Doing so, I have learned quite a bit and want to share with you so you may benefit too.
As I’ve said many times, I’m just sharing, please refer to your medical professionals before attempting anything I have done. It is prudent you follow through with this as CMT affects each person differently. You do not want to cause any more problems to yourself.
I hope you enjoy the journey that I’ve designed to encourage people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth.
